Addressing Nutrition issues, Building positive self-image, restructuring relationships with self and others, Family Counselling for Anorexia and Bulimia.
Many of us take nutrition and eating for granted, and don’t think twice about the food we consume to satisfy our basic needs. However, eating disorders can be complex mental health conditions that affect people physically, emotionally, and socially. While they are centre on a person’s relationship with food, themselves, they can make their impact on far more than just the individual struggling with food and body image issues. People often feel anxiety and shame in reaching out for help regarding an eating disorder. Even considering the recovery process may become a terrifying prospect because changing eating behaviours would become an integral and underlying part of therapy. We understand that this can feel daunting, but we aim to enable individuals to fight that fear and regain a healthy relationship with food and themselves; as well as facilitate family members to explore the dynamics that can be co-constructive in the process of recovery.
